Stereo & Dolby Atmos™ Mixing
Stereo Mixing
In this stage we take your song from good to great! Mixing is the creative part of the process where all of the individual elements in a recording is blended and balanced to create the best possible version of a song. The mixing process includes: editing; sculpting the sound of each instrument using EQ (equalization), compression and other audio processing tools; balancing track levels; placing elements in the stereo field to create a stereo image; adding reverb and other effects to create depth; and various other broad-stroke improvements to create a unified record.
Terms of Service: In order for us to commence work on your mix, we require the raw separates from the producer/recording engineer. Certain groups of instruments or vocals are permitted to be grouped together in stems, if the producer would like to retain the exact same tone/processing/balance of these elements. If possible, please supply all tracks in 48kHz / 24-bit WAV quality.
The turnaround time for a stereo mix is 5 - 10 working days, depending on the size and complexity of the recording. Client will be supplied with the final pre-master files (48kHz / 24-bit WAV), ready for send-off to mastering.
Dolby Atmos™ Mixing
Dolby Atmos™ (also referred to as 'Spatial Audio' on Apple Music) is an ‘object-based’, immersive surround sound audio format. This format allows artists to push the creative boundary by presenting their music in a spatial and dynamic immersive environment. This format can be listened to with any pair of headphones or earphones, as well as on Dolby Atmos™ compatible sound bars, speakers and theatres. Dolby Atmos™ gives the mixing engineer the ability to place and move sounds in a 3D environment around the listener, allowing for a more immersive listening experience than stereo or other traditional discrete surround sound formats. This format allows the mix to be intelligently adapted to the playback system's speaker configuration, whether it be headphones, earphones, 5.1, 7.1, 7.1.4 or however many speakers connected to the playback system.
Dolby Atmos™ mixes are currently distributed to Apple Music, Amazon Music and TIDAL. These streaming platforms have dedicated Dolby Atmos (or Spatial Audio) editorial playlists, which can help get additional exposure on an artist's release, if such a play-listing is landed. See below for examples of Apple Music's editorial playlists that our Dolby Atmos mixes have been featured on.
With our Dolby Atmos mixing service, the integrity of the companion final stereo mix will be maintained, whether it was mixed by us or by someone else. In most instances, it is not recommended to drastically change the tonal characteristics, balance and creative decisions of the original stereo mix. In our opinion, Dolby Atmos mixes sound best when they resemble the stereo mix, but are enhanced and augmented to create an immersive and spatial listening experience. However, if the client would like their Dolby Atmos mix to be slightly more experimental and creative than the stereo mix, this is by all means possible and welcomed.
Terms of Service: In order for us to commence work on your Dolby Atmos mix, we require the mixed separates from the mixing engineer. The most important elements (lead vocal, kick, snare, bass, lead guitars, lead synths, etc.) should please be supplied on separate tracks. Certain groups of instruments or backing vocals are permitted to be grouped together in stems. If possible, please supply all tracks in 48kHz / 24-bit WAV quality.
The turnaround time is 4 - 5 working days per mix. Client will be supplied with the final delivery file (ADM WAV), ready for distribution to Apple Music, Amazon Music and TIDAL. This file does not have to go through additional mastering processes, as is the case with stereo mixes.

At the moment, in order to preview Dolby Atmos mixes before being distributed, client will need to have Apple AirPods (3rd Generation), AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.
